You won't see this one coming. This recipe is so easy that you simply have to give a shot. Given that the prep time and cook time is less than 5 minutes total, even if you mess this up it's easy to try it again! This has a low investment and a great return.
Grilled Romaine can be a light and healthy appetizer that family and friends will enjoy, or you can use it as the base for a grilled chicken caesar salad that will take it to the next level.
The most important note to consider with this recipe is that the fire within the Big Green Egg needs to be a low flame when cooking with direct heat. If the flame is too high, then it will burn and char the romaine leaves.
Depending on how you are going to use the leaves, then you can cook them on the front end of a cook or at the end of a cook.
For instance, if you are using these as an appetizer, then simply use whatever setup you will use for your main cook and put them on before you cook your main dish. If you are using them as the base for a salad, then grill the leaves right before it's time to eat. Again, you can do this with either Big Green Egg setup.
